Terry Owens-Alvarez ASID, NCIDQ Certified Interior Designer

Terry Owens-Alvarez is the principal designer of THID.  She received a Bachelor of Science in interior design from the University of Alabama, a CIDA accredited program known as FIDER.  She has worked in the field as both a designer and project manager for the past 26 years. Terry has successfully completed projects in all areas of design, including residential, commercial, healthcare and hospitality projects. Terry has lived in Truckee, California since 1993.


Outside the office, she enjoys everything the Sierras have to offer; biking, skiing, and all things outdoors.  These activities add to her understanding of the environment and lifestyle for which she designs. She is an avid traveler and often incorporates different cultures and experiences into her designs.  Recently Terry has expanded her design clientele to chile and she spends part of the year there designing and helping her husband to run Bio Bio Patagonia at as one of the camp hosts and yoga leaders.  


Since 1999, Terry devoted much of her energy and time to raising money for CanDoMS, a non-profit organization created to help people living with Multiple Sclerosis.  Terry served on the founding Board of Directors for Girls on the Run in an executive position.  

From the ground up at Martis Camp to Tahoe Donner fireplace design- Terry gives each client her personal attention and strives to ensure quality design in each project.
